Desktop Wallpapers

What do you use for your desktop wallpaper? The new Mac operating system has this one as a default.

That’s a bit too bright for me, so I looked to see what other choices they have. For some reason I decided on this one for now.

It doesn’t have the impact here that it does on my 27-inch retinal display. There’s something about the water that stirs something deep inside of me.

While writing this I found my old desktop wallpaper from Mac Yosemite that I used for several years:

That one moves me too.

What do you use?

I love the Yosemite one! I used to use photos from my own photo file. But now Bing has a slide show of georgeous ones. Every day or so I see a breathtaking new one. You would like it!

Yosemite is nice. I have just a plain teal green one. I keep a lot of photo files on my desktop so the clean, simple background works best.

For years I always had a plain blue one, for that very reason. Once Yosemite came along I started putting things in document folders so the desktop stays clean.

for years I’ve had a black and white picture of a little beagle puppy.
he never fails to make me happy. I found him back when I had the Peanut.
and he’s made it through many computer hacks and a couple of changes!
    he’s my little sidekick. xo
and ps… I love the last two pictures! they speak to me as well.

Until we got Big Boy and now bow I always used water views but mine were beaches are all the different beautiful beaches. I love both of these and would be very happy with him but right now I have two different views of bow and Big Boi on my desktop

I’m loving that Yosemite image! When I was working, I’d change wallpaper on a whim — mostly snow-scapes or motivational one-liners. Nowadays that we share one desktop, I’ve not bothered.
So glad you wrote this — prompting me to upload a spring blossoms theme for Tom. He-Who-Loves-The-Sun has had a tough go of it this winter. (I’ll try and curb my enthusiasm for my snow images until July.)

  6. I have a slide show of 8-10 pictures of scenery as my desk top. It’s a generic choice that comes with Windows. I like it though. You can set it so that it changes fast or very slow. I have mine set slow. It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at those settings but I’m guessing it’s set to change at 30 minutes so I usually only see a new one first thing in the morning. My favorite is of the morning sun coming through a forest.

    I like your Yosemite.

Right now (On my laptop I have Texas wildflowers I photographed a couple of years ago) and my phone wallpaper is our cat, Isaiah. I really like your Yosemite scene best.

  8. Those are beautiful. Mine has had a picture of Wade on it for quite a while

Blue sky with fluffy white clouds and a sliver of moon. I have no idea what it is called or where it came from. 🙂

I was reading the newer post and it made me remember this post and did remember if I commented or not. I have a newer computer that has changing backgrounds that are beautiful. I have just left them. This computer has a photo of Lorelei in portrait style, so all the icons are on a plain background but there is her smiling face to see, too.

I use a wallpaper called Flow that has a blue to green background color and swirls and squiggles on the right edge.

We use Linux (free!!) so have no use for anything to do with Windows.

What PC do you have? How did you get started with Linux? Do you have an antivirus? We have Macs, so Linux isn’t an option for us I’m pretty sure, but I am intrigued.

When I upgraded my operating system, I was presented with a desktop image that like yours was way too bright. I replaced with a lovely image of a mountainous landscape.

  13. I’m able to use my own pictures on my Toshiba and my Chromebook.
