In her latest post Tempi mentioned weasels and stoats. I had never heard of stoats until I saw this video a few months ago:
They’re cute but they’re not domesticated and don’t make good pets.

how wonderful!
this is a very dear little video. thank goodness for humans like this man.
to have the patience and ability to rescue them and raise them and then release them back into Nature when it’s time!
thanks for sharing this Monk! XO
I know, he’s clearly a caring fellow. 🙂
I’ve never heard of a stat before. They’re cute
I had never heard of one either.
We had not heard of stoats before either. Fun video. So thankful for people that take the time to help little animals who are defenseless. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, he clearly has a warm heart. 🙂
They remind me of Ferrets, but are apparently a lot wilder. I think all three are in the same genetic group?
Apparently weasels are the smallest, then stoats, then ferrets. They’re all related.
Stoats are a pest in New Zealand – they hunt eggs and baby birds –
They are predators. I assume they were imported?
we don’t have weasels but we do have ferrets – and yes probably imported. Some people have ferrets as a pet…
first time i have seen or heard of them, i did look them up, because they are adorable in the video, and found they destroy bird populations and are considered pests… doesn’t mean they are not cute. the do look a little like a ferret
That’s too bad about the birds. Apparently cats are hard on birds too.
Adorable … especially in their wee ‘sleeping bags.’
I know, that was such a sweet touch. 🙂
So cute! But it’s sad to learn they eat bird eggs.
I know. 🙁
