Baby Stoats

In her latest post Tempi mentioned weasels and stoats. I had never heard of stoats until I saw this video a few months ago:

They’re cute but they’re not domesticated and don’t make good pets.

this is a very dear little video. thank goodness for humans like this man.
to have the patience and ability to rescue them and raise them and then release them back into Nature when it’s time!

We had not heard of stoats before either. Fun video. So thankful for people that take the time to help little animals who are defenseless. Thanks for sharing.

They remind me of Ferrets, but are apparently a lot wilder. I think all three are in the same genetic group?

  5. Stoats are a pest in New Zealand – they hunt eggs and baby birds –

first time i have seen or heard of them, i did look them up, because they are adorable in the video, and found they destroy bird populations and are considered pests… doesn’t mean they are not cute. the do look a little like a ferret

Adorable … especially in their wee ‘sleeping bags.’

  8. So cute! But it’s sad to learn they eat bird eggs.
