Enthusiasm

It’s faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living.
—Oliver Wendell Holmes

The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm.
—Aldous Huxley

I’m certainly no genius, but I’m still a little kid at heart and can get enthusiastic about all sorts of things. That’s why this post is so late today.

What sparks your enthusiasm/lights your fire?

I tend to be like that too.
and I think I also tend to be a skimmer (of knowlege) …
because I do like so many different things.
but I’m never bored! and to me that alone makes it worth it. 😀

  2. Doing something arty farty sparks my enthusiasm. Also, conversations with very old friends.

My daily cat calendar and the birds at the birdbath.

Of course now I want to know what got you so enthusiastic. I have great enthusiasm for sunsets, flowers, and many other things.

Sorting through old pictures and watching a great lecture series on the geological wonders of the earth. The fellow does a great job of talking about volcanoes, tectonic plates, how mountain are formed and eroded, ice ages, etc. I like it because he talks in terms of tens and hundreds of million years. It puts things in perspective.

  5. I love, it seems, because I can’t seem to just put it all in the garbage, and never do it again ART, not just one kind but from time to time stepping off in another direction.

Of course, I like doing other things, but right now that’s my “ace place”

I’m still enthusiastic about designing conversion vans even though I know I’m not likely to ever own one again. I still enjoy watching videos of other people’s conversions as well.

I’ve always said you need hold on to your inner child. When I can get in the mood, crafting is what I’m most enthusiastic about.

Reading a good book and/or doing just about anything internet related, from research to looking up how old Jill Biden is, did that this morning. I talk to my phone over and over asking questions, so far I have asked 3 questions today

I, too, was waiting for the ‘rest of the story’ — but Ginny beat me to it. Thanks for the explanation!
Me? Excepting our dogs, enthusiasm isn’t something I’ve felt very often this last year. Sounds silly, but I’m always filled with anticipation before trying a new recipe.

    • Jean says:

That’s not silly at all. I assume that’s why so many people like to try new recipes. It’s a fun adventure.

  10. The OP Pack says:

I am not sure what it says about me, but my dogs and my grands all spark my enthusiasm:)
