Lazy Day

I didn’t get up until three this afternoon, and still feel a bit woozy. Why? Probably because we has our third Moderna shot yesterday. Yes, the FDA isn’t recommending it yet, but when I had my annual physical Monday my doctor said it was up to us.

The main reason we didn’t want to wait for approval was we may fly to Massachusetts at the end of the month to see Kaitlin and Torben’s new home. Andy really wanted to go and said we really needed the booster shot first.

So are we going? He still hasn’t decided. It depends on what Kaitlin says about the airports when she comes to visit and to escort us very old folks there. I told him our doctor was horrified when she flew to see her daughter at college. He says maybe it will be better in a few weeks, so things are still up in the air.

Anyway, I didn’t have problems with my first Moderna shots, but had one bad day after my shingles shot, so I’m expecting to be back to normal tomorrow. I will let you know. 🙂

Oh gosh, i’m so sorry! If it’s any consolation, they say that the worse the shot makes you feel, the better it has worked. We got our third shot this week, and only ha sore arms. Keep me updated on how you are feeling. But it is still alot better than actually getting Covid.

Thanks! Andy just had a sore arm, and I’m back to normal again. I had a similar reaction to the second shingles shot but no problem with the first two Covids. Maybe that’s the new normal for me? If so it’s not bad at all, well worth it.

  2. There is no rule in life you have to get up in the morning, or for that matter at any set time, if you don’t have to be some place that day…having a couple of days in horizontal mode will be good for your soul especially if you’ve had the jab…
Deciding on your options to visit with Kaitlin and Torben, that’s not a call we have to make…it’s between you and them. Of course Tempi and Zoe probably would help with a decision, if they knew it was in the offering.
I know a lot of people are travelling about their own countries, a number of uTubers that I follow have got into the motorhome travelling mode & have quite a few fly the nest to further abroad. Both in the USA and Australia. Not so much here, well at least right now…as my region is locked down…

Interesting that you’ve had a third shot. The British government is still debating who to offer a booster shot to – either all over 50s or just those deemed especially vulnerable. That’s unlucky that you had such a strong reaction to the booster.

    • Jean says:

The reaction wasn’t a big deal, it only lasted a day and just meant I slept a lot. The US hasn’t officially recommended the third shot, but doctors can approve it if it’s warranted.

Hope all goes well and you can take the trip

We have not been offered a booster. All I can say about going anywhere at this time is I would not go

    • Jean says:

We had to ask for the booster and our doctor had no problems authorizing it. We’ll probably go to see Kaitlin’s place…who knows what the future will bring.

  6. Didn’t know the booster shot would be the same formula as the 1st and 2nd. I’m glad you were able to get them. Hope you also get to make your trip.

I don’t think the booster is available yet for those of us in Alabama. Glad y’all are taking every precaution in light of your next adventure!
