What Do You Think?

I love this quote because it’s pretty much how I live my life.

Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn’t stop you from doing anything at all.
—Richard Feynman, theoretical physicist

I’m guessing a lot of people would disagree. What about you?

nope. I don’t disagree at all!
somehow we got off to a wrong start (my HOO!) in thinking that success depends on how much MONEY you can make to BUY more stuff that you don’t need!
I like yours and Richard Feynman’s thoughts on it! xo

  2. I like that quote – very resonates with the “current me” – and I never did find what I was destined to do – like in career wise. However, there were times in life where “self-help” and other mentors tried hard to find that for me. Many offerings and I still didn’t get there.
But now it doesn’t matter, I do mostly whatever I want!

Except today where things have taken on a new formed branch on my tree – not sure it’s going to make anything health wise any better, but I suppose it’s worth a shot. I think K must be quite young, but I could hear children in the background…remember we are still severely locked down and K is working from home. Why do I think she is young, because at points in our long phone chat I felt she was telling this old lady that THIS IS the RIGHT way v not actually knowing I did kind of know…

I never thought about this, but I really like the advice! I need to putit on the fridge.

Nope, can’t disagree with this one. I love it. I just need to learn to spend more time on the things I love. There’s nothing quite like getting lost in an activity that you find fun

I agree whole-heartedly. Enjoy life your way. (At least within the limits of laws. A serial killer is no good. You know, things like that.)

I really like this. It makes me think of the saying to find a job you love to do and you will never have to work…or is it never have to dread going to work?

it fits me as a retired person, but not sure about the working folks. it would not have worked for me when I was employed. also it fits if you have enough money to live on but if in poverty level, which is where i was for most of my life, it will not work

I wish I seen (and believed) this a long time ago. For many years I looked for self-worth in others’ eyes, their opinions.
Chuckling at that last line. And feeling free … free to be!

  9. Linda Sand says:

My Dave sometimes worked weekends or overnight on specific projects. I once asked him what he does for fun. He said he has fun every day at work.

I only took work, paid or unpaid, that appealed to me.

Dave’s brother once said he could do any type of work that left him time for his music.

I think we all got it right.

    Makes sense to me!
