Kaitlin, Andy, and I went to Walden Pond one morning. (The pups couldn’t go, so Torben stayed with them and baked more of his fabulous sourdough bread.)

oh Monk! I absolutely love this.
as you know… I discovered Thoreau as a teenager and his writings from Walden were so special to me. he affected my life in the best way.
I love these pictures and the ones on Flickr!
thank you for sharing them! XO
As you know, I was thinking of you. 🙂
His cabin looks quite comfortable but where is the flatscreen tv?
Or how about a toilet?
I so would love that cabin! Give me a book to read and a pad of paper to write on….or not. i would love it with nothing at all. Just the peace.
Of course, the pond is a lot more crowded nowadays.
How super is this? A day in literary history!
Yes. 🙂
Somehow the photo of you didn’t make it???
Thanks, somehow it didn’t get pulled over. I have now added it.
Yay! Thank you!
Wow, how far away from the pond do you live?
It’s close to where Kaitlin and Torben are in Massachusetts. We went there on our recent visit.
That looks like a wonderful place. Very peaceful and relaxing.
It was. 🙂
looking at the natural surrounds (although without all the signs of today) I can see why Walden retreated to such a place. Far from the maddening world that even in his time, would have felt that way. What would he make of “now time…” and can we all go to a cabin in the woods…
photos of you all out and about, look fabulous…
Thanks. 🙂 Andy and I went up for a picnic supper tonight. Few trees but peaceful and a nice view.
i looked at all the flicker pictures and would truly love to wander those paths through all those beautiful trees, I love trees as much as I love beaches, my two preferred places to walk.
It’s a pleasant walk I love walking in trees.
I love that little cabin so much! Not to live in, per se, but the perfect spot to sit and ponder … perchance to capture my thoughts on paper. Thank you for sharing this place with us; I had no idea it existed!
I’m glad you like it too. 🙂
I’m with Kaitlin…”Yay! Thank you!”
and I love your Hat!
style comes to Walden Pond! xoxo
Calling me stylish is a bit of a stretch, but I do love that hat. 🙂
I wish I had visited there when I lived there. What a very special time!!!
Bet you enjoyed the bread too:)
I seldom eat bread, but Torben’s is heavenly toasted. I miss having it for breakfast. 🙂
Lovely setting!
