Hang On to Your Hat!

Hang on to your hat! Windy today…

That’s what an email from our solar/lightning protector guy ended with this morning.

Andy was already aware of the forecast and that he might have to clear some trees off the road. He’s also aware that the first hard freeze is predicted for tonight, so he’s going to drain the water system. Indian summer is over for a while at least.

we had one day’s respite from tornadoes and hail… now tonight we’re expecting it again. can’t complain though. when the tornadoes usually come in the spring… we didn’t get any. so … it is what it is! I hope Andy won’t have a terrible time with downed trees! it makes me feel uneasy knowing he has to fight those and cut them up off the road. XO

Andy says it takes a lot longer to clear the trees now because he has to cut them into smaller pieces so he can handle them. He’s not upset about it, just realistic.

I guess it is that time of year for freezing temps. And we’re sitting here with 101° heat index.

We have had a bit more wind lately here too. And rain, and now more rain coming. But we need it. I much prefer the sun:)

  4. crazy weather in NZ – the other day saw on a newsreel that it had snowed in the SI. Up here also crazy – heating back on at odd times, and just this arvo a hail break, followed by gusty rain and then windy…

Very windy all day here yesterday and a hailstorm last night. Turned on the furnace for the first time this morning. Only got to 48 today and 29 forecast for tonight but 60 tomorrow. Who knows the weather? Certainly not the Weather Gods!

  6. Ginny Hartzler says:

Not so here, it is to be 80 degrees all week!

we are still hot here, the mornings are 74 at wake up but still get sweaty walking the big guy. i do not like wind , breezes yes but winds scare me. i would fret the whole time Andy was gone

  8. Ann Thompson says:

Oh no, not a freeze already. I know it’s getting to be that time of year but I’m never ready for it

  9. Rose says:

Hearing this is just another reminder that winter is on its way. We have not had anything near a hard freeze yet. But you remind me that I need to disconnect the water hoses.

  10. Myra Guca says:

I remember being so excited when the temps would plummet, knowing the ice rink would open before long.
Okay, I know this isn’t Andy’s first rodeo — but (like Sandra said) I’m fretting a little bit.
