I’ve been going through some of my photos from our trip to see Kaitlin, Torben, and and the pups. I put some of them on Flickr.
The ones of taking the pups swimming are here.
And the September 29 ones of (mostly) their back yard are here.
Another special memory was going to their favorite ice cream place. It’s been voted one of the best in the state and was about to close for the season. The second time we went Andy ordered the smallest cone they had plus a banana split. I opted to share his split, knowing it would be more than enough for us both.
The whole trip was one of the highlights of my life. I will never forget it.

The split looks DELICIOUS! And this swimming place is so beautiful! It looks both peaceful and wild.
It had been years since we had a banana split. π
love the memories including the icecream +++
That ice cream was fun. π
Oh my gosh, that banana split is huge. The look on Andy’s face says he’s up for the challenge though.
We couldn’t finish it in one sitting, but we had fun trying. π
Now that I think of it you look like you are too…lol I just love those happy faces.
π
my favorite photo shares two with that spot. this one of you and hubby and the biggest split in the world and Tempi in the swing with mama and grandma. all the photos on both links and on this post make me feel good just to look at them
Thank you. π
That split is a MOUNTAIN of yum.
Yes. The place is known for its huge servings.
What a delightful image — the two of you kids with that gigantic banana split. Like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting!
We did feel like little kids. Notice we didn’t wait to take our jackets off.
Riger would love that banana split!
It was fun. π
what Wonderful pictures!!! I can’t believe Zoey would rather go down the ladder instead of sliding down the slide. LOL!
I think there must be some lab in there with her love of swimming and water!
these pictures are all so wonderful. and you captured it all for us to share.
Thank YOU! (and that’s the biggest banana split I’ve ever seen! YUM!) XO
Zoe does love the water. When we went to a dog park with a pond in Illinois she ran ahead, leapt over the fence and dove into the water before we could keep up with her,
That’s like a triple decker banana split!!! I love ice cream and could probably make a meal of it:) I grew up with Friendly’s in MA and CT, and my whole family really misses not having Friendly’s in the Midwest.
Needless to say we weren’t hungry for dinner that night. We went to Friendly’s twice. Once in upstate New York, the second time in Connecticut. The second time we didn’t remember it until we tasted the food and the milkshakes. Oh, yeah. Poor food but great shakes. Then it all came back. They were consistent. We would go to one here if they had one.
That’s more like three banana splits! Looks good. Ice cream is my weakness.
The place is known for its huge portions and we were curious about what they would do. π
My goodnessβ what a lot of ice cream! Looks good enough to eat.
We didn’t finish it all, but we made a valiant effort. π
