Ten Years Ago

Exactly 10 years ago Kaitlin and Torben came to visit. We picked them up at the Albuquerque airport and drove up to the house site on our way here.

how wonderful to have those pictures! so much change in ten years!

  2. Are you like me and wonder how time passes so quickly, when so much can change, and then, some things don’t!

  3. Ginny Hartzler says:

    Gorgeous view!!

  4. a decade seems forever but when I look back to just over 3 months ago when our current lockdown level appeared, feels so quick…

  5. Ann Thompson says:

Ten years seems like a blink of an eye any more. To think it was only a mere decade ago that these were taken. Oh what a difference a decade can make.

What a view! And fun memories.

  7. Time is a thief!
Aren’t those the Sangres on the horizon?

i looked at all the photos, and there is a big difference from then and now. was the house there and burned? is this the first build of your house or replacing the old one… the focus for me is all those burned trees and how horrid that must have been..

    • Jean says:

The house was partially finished but still useful. The main room was on the second story and it felt like being in a tree house. The burned trees were the worst part of the fire. The new house is a lot smaller but a better design for living in.

    • MadSnapper says:

that sounds fun having a room to look all around your mountain views

I would hate having lost a dream (and an investment). Life can be so cruel!! At least you have the land for picnic suppers (and lunches). A place to go, see what God has created beyond your realm, and thank him for letting you all to live and see another day.

I also played catch-up this morning. My sister on the western slope of the Rockies has cougars, bobcats, and all kinds of critters on her land (sometimes on her deck).

    • Jean says:

We didn’t lose our investment…the place wasn’t about money but about building family memories. We’re still doing that, Kaitlin and Torben love the place as much as we do. We’re blessed.

  10. Such a beautiful place. I can see why you built up there.
