Here are two other sunset pictures, of the Missippi River.
They were taken from the dining car of the Amtrak Southwest Chief when we were returning home from visiting Kaitlin and Torben in October, 2019.
You can see the reflection of the lights and the table in the widow.
Lucky timing!

Dining on the Mississippi, I love it! A two-in-one pic. I hve never seen the Mississippi in real life, so htis is special.
It was special. 🙂
that definitely looks like the mighty Mississippi!
and no better way to see it than from the dining car of a train.
I LOVE trains! XOXO
We loved the Southwest Chief. 🙂
These are wonderful…I love the Mississippi River. Or maybe I should say it really holds my interest.
It has always held my interest too. 🙂
Wonderful photos and memories! Carl loved traveling by train a few years ago to see his brother in Vancouver Washington, and hopes to do another trip again.
I hope it works out. Trains are something special.
Great imagery! Some of my fondest childhood memories included boarding the train down in Lamy and travelling to Sioux City or Chicago. I’d love to experience Amtrak someday!
We have fond memories of Lamy. The contrast between that station and the Chicago one still cracks us up.
Beautiful! I love watching a sunset.
Ours here are usually not that spectacular, but I am starting to watch for them. I took some pictures tonight.
The best of many worlds: a beautiful sunset, the Mississippi River, train travel, and dinner in the dining car on a train. The Southwest Chief, though, is one of the few we never rode. We went east from New Orleans to Florida instead.
Fingers crossed they keep the trains going. Kaitlin and Torben have moved now so trains will no longer work for us. It was nice while it lasted.
It’s really pretty.
