Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Day 2

Going to the Zugspitze was fun, but the second day was what I went for. I loved to walk, and the second day was my kind of heaven. I first walked the couple of miles through some woods to Partnachklamm, a famous gorge. (The following pictures are from alongdistancejourney.com and happytowander.com.)

After I was through the gorge I continued down to the base of the hill and waited for a bus to take me to the cable car to the AlpspiX viewing platform. After enjoying the views I took another cable car partway down to Holchalm.

I then spent the next couple of hours ambling back down to the valley through lush mountain meadows.

Again, if that wasn’t heaven, I don’t know what would be.

The next day I took the train through rural Austria, with great views of the Austrian Alps, to Graz and the conference. The weekend may have been over, but the memories are still vivid.

Your “wandering” would have been too much for me, even at a young age. But we did enjoy the views of the Alps on a train ride between Salzburg and Innsbruck. We were awestruck flatlanders.

The gorge is amazing! I might get a tad claustrophobic. And the mountains are so amazing.

The torrents of the swiftly moving water thru the canyon is incredible and love seeing all the green of the meadow!!

each time a new view of the gorge came up as I scrolled, Wow and Wow is what I thought. I tend to forget how stunning our world is when we are bombarded with war and lack of peace. Amazing! the views and that you did it
