It’s Still There, We’re Still Here

Summary of what happened yesterday:

A Red Flag Weather warning was in effect. Though the area experienced strong gusts and low relative humidity (RH), no drastic fire movement occurred. Wind conditions allowed air operations to continue throughout most of the day, with scooper planes and helicopters dropping water throughout the fire area.

They have about a thousand people working on it now, so fingers crossed. Apparently this is the second driest April since 1895… the firefighters are battling that plus the winds. They’re doing a remarkable job.

Andy and I are happy that we’re still in our apartment. We now have both our new flip phones and like them, which is a big thing to get off our Possibility List. Andy is continuing to work designing his electronics, including searching for suitable components.

And he’s also getting caught up on his reading.

Things are going well here. How are things with you?

just think… you’re living through a very famous time in history!
this will be in the weather history books for years. I love your Calm and yet Alert acceptance of anything that might happen. you both have just quietly and efficiently gone about getting things done that are important!
    in the meantime…
I’m going to picture it all being resolved with no need to evacuate! XOXO

  3. Maybe Andy should treat it as a retreat – but also I see he’s using that time for research and reading – both the kind of things he would do if he had to anyway. And I guess, you Jean is just doing what you do daily anyway…

Things are on about the same level as you Jean, pottering along as best as I’m able. Although tomorrow I’m going out with an unknown man (needed to be picked up and taken) to be at the venue, not been to for quite some time – somehow get through a seniors morning tea – then see a film (Let’s hope I don’t have a blasted hot flush, common with that kind of air-conditioning).

Saturday or sometime in the w/end also going out but with HB to Bunnings hardware mega store …

both venues will be large indoor premises, that’s not something I’ve done in a while. I expect to return home, overwhelmed ….
