This Is Me Too

I can sometimes spend hours on little details and not think it’s a waste of time.

Nulla dies sine linea is Latin for “No day without a line.” It’s aimed at writers, but it applies to any skill we want to develop… we have to practice regularly. For me it’s posting every day so that blogging is an integral part of my life.

The picture was inspired by this one from Quentin Blake’s You’re Only Young Twice:

Fun stuff.

Did you actually draw the first picture? Wow!

  2. love, love, love

yes most days I “draw a line” – today it was a small cover, just one not the back cover and I’m pleased with it. I’m going to be colouring more miniature c-books this coming week. Along with another project that probably won’t become anything for a while…WIP

Another version I’ve read, aimed at writers but adjustable, is

Write every day. If you can’t write, edit something you’ve already written. If you can’t do that, pick up your manuscript and walk around the room with it.

    Loving these drawings.
“No day without a line”, I like that. I need to apply that concept to a few different things.

I woujd fo better if I applied that line to several things…but sewing a few lines every day is good therapy.

I like that quote and do believe in it.. your cartoon YOU truly resembles you and I love it… now I need a memory to remember to do the line a day. half the time i forget to take my pills or do my leg excercises, how do i forget those? I also love the lady in the tree…you have talent for sure. I am not familar with Blake

  7. Great toon! Tom’s becomes focused that way with his (RC) aircraft — building or tweaking, giving no thought to time. I do love that line. Unfortunately, I’m usually ALL IN or all out, disinterested in a few days’ time.
