Hurry, hurry, open every door! says my heart!
—-Mary Oliver
The older I get the less I hurry. Stay curious and open to life, yes. Hurry, hurry? Not for me.
What about you?

I have slowed down quite a lot since my younger years. I used to rush through my day at work like a whirlwind. These days I take the work smarter not harder approach.
That’s a wise move!
I live in the south…hurry is NOT in our dictionary.
π
I am a hurrier
I know. π
Not for me, either. This quote immediately brought to mind visions of chaos and disorder.
I think of unnecessary stress and wasted energy.
I did my version of hurrying the other day. I made myself laugh out loud. Stride? What’s that? My stride is measured in inches not feet.
π I don’t know about you, but I laugh a lot more now.
I find doing things more slowly at my age prevents mistakes and bruises.
Yes!
I used to be hurrying 24/7.
Now I donβt hurry at all.
I just go at a pace that feels right.
And I try not to push myself but sometimes I feel guilty and lazy.
Iβm working on those feelings.
Good for you, working on feeling guilty and lazy. I’m with Brenda Ueland:
Happy moodling!
I don’t need to hurry now – but sometimes I do motor is it’s something like “there’s the bus…oops must hurry”
But right now I’m back to wary of going out, even though I didn’t catch covid from “going out” rather someone sitting adjacent to me at the community dining table. I’m much better and the beautiful sun, almost spring like calls to me, I don’t want to venture out just yet!
my close friends and family say “when the time is right….then go, but for now do the best at home…” and that best is apparently the new bits of art I’m making.
Yes, when the time is right. π
I’m glad you’re feeling better.
