High Hopes?

I’m afraid I’m not a high hoper. I tend to agree with Ashleigh Brilliant,

I feel so much better now that I have given up hope.

It frees me to focus on doing the best I can in the present and enjoying the process as much as possible. There are no guarantees in life. Even if things don’t turn out the way I would like at least I know I’ve played my part well.

But one size doesn’t fit all. How do you handle life’s uncertainties?

Well, I never take it for granted that things will go well. And I pray!

  2. I plan for uncertainties, then do the best I can to prevent them.

  3. i try to find the “bright side” in whatever comes via the “low way” – although after last weeks’ craziness, I’ve had an entertaining week so far…

I agree with your approach. I don’t know why people talk about hope so much, when surely the point is not to hope for something but for it actually to happen. You can hope for something till you’re blue in the face but then what?

I suppose how I handle life’s uncertainties all depends on my state of mind at the time. If life has been treating me well then I’m fairy optimistic that I will get through things the best I can. If on the other hand life has been handing me lots of lemons then I’m a whole lot less composed about the situation.

Sure, you’re often overworked and your vacation went pftt! because you were sick. You’re doing amazingly well under the circumstances.

  6. Sure, I’ve high hopes (love this song!) — but temper them with common sense solutions. And prayer.

I refuse to answer this as I do not want to incriminate myself. LOL

Actually, I am a lot like Ann….depends on how much crap has been happening. If it is just one thing, I can handle it better than if it is one thing in a long line of things.

I don’t think I dare type one thing I have always thought…even when I was young. You would really think me crazy.
