Kaitlin, Torben, and the pups went down to Santa Cruz (California) this past weekend. That brought back all sorts of memories, We used to go there for vacations when I was a kid, and Kaitlin went to college there.
When we went to visit her one of our favorite things to do was watch the surfers and the otters, seemingly coexisting happily. So it was a surprise when I saw this article and video yesterday about an otter that tried to steal a surfer’s board. She got aggressive when he wanted it back. Otters are cute and lovable, but apparently from a distance. They’re not always friendly to humans. How funny is that?

I had no idea there are otters in the pacific, I see seals and other things but not otters. this is funny and scary at the same time. I love seeing your grandpups so happy in the sunshine
