There’s Still a Lot of Wisdom There

I posted this cartoon seven years ago. It’s even more appropriate now.

  1. Linda Sand says:

I watch/read very little news now. If it’s not happening right here, it’s not something I can control. Pretty much the only real time things I’m reading are candidate brochures and I will check out their website later this month.

    • Jean says:

I’ve always been interested in history and human nature so I read enough news to see the big picture of the enormous changes going on. And I do vote.

  2. Ginny+Hartzler says:

    Indeed it is! Love it!

  3. Cindi says:

    I WAS worried about it.
Worried now that the cancer is back
but now Iā€™m not letting myself worry.
Worry is negative energy. Thinking negative will draw negative to me.
So instead Iā€™m visualizing my future
And Iā€™m seeing myself happy, healthy and doing fun things!

    • Jean says:

I’m so sorry about the cancer. I think it’s important not to throw away our precious present moments no matter what happens, but my fingers are crossed for you!

  4. Catalyst says:

Oh yes. I’m reading less and less news these days, too. Like the character in the strip “control what I can, ignore the rest.”

    • Jean says:

For every problem under the sun,
There is a solution or there is none.
If there be one, try to find it.
If there be none, never mind it.

So you have now moved to your new place and can relax again? My heart went out to you about the move. What a mess!

  5. Ann Thompson says:

I stopped watching and reading the news a long time ago. There’s a lot going on in the world that I don’t like and can’t control. Wade used to read the paper every day and watch the news and he was always stressing over what was going on. I choose not to be like that.

  6. Hootin Anni says:

The best…absolute BEST of this post is your quote in comments…

For every problem under the sun,
There is a solution or there is none.
If there be one, try to find it.
If there be none, never mind it.

  7. Rose says:

It is wonderful if you can be this way..

  8. This is front-of-the-refrigerator-door worthy!

  9. nick says:

Control what I can, ignore the rest. Sounds like wise advice to me.
