Another Trip to See the Fall Colors

It wasn’t as sunny yesterday but it was worth the trip to see how the colors are progressing. I’m still processing the photos, but here are three from the drive in.

There are a few more, with greater resolution, here in Flickr.

And here is a video (click on the photo) of the rain while we were driving out. Notice the water is starting to erode the road.

You have such an amazing view there.

  4. The first three images (Flickr) sure lend a new perspective to the steep terrain. Not for the faint of heart, lol!

  5. the photos are great and beautiful, the video shows how they look in real life. So glad you added the video, like being there in the car.. that road is just perfect to ride and enjoy the trees. without rain would be better

  6. The colors are looking wonderful. I love yellow!

  7. both spring and autumn (fall) show us exactly where the trees are from green to red and beyond…looks like most of the trees that are either reviving or didn’t get so burnt out are in the “valleys” where the water runoff has pooled.

Here they change at different times depending on the micro climate. There was a noticeable difference between last Monday and Friday, and I hope to go up Tuesday and Saturday this week. With any luck Kaitlin, Torben and the pups will be here next week so I’ll go up for another four days. The rain has made that area especially beautiful this year.
