Does anyone else remember this song?
I thought of it when I was wondering how it got to be the middle of November already.
Do you agree with the premise that you can’t enjoy yourself when you’re old? I’m having more fun now that I did when I was younger. What about you?
November 15, 2022
somehow for the past few years, because of you know what – things have gotten all messed up.
since I came back from Wellington it was time to do more – and that is happening…
I hope youโre starting to have more joy in your life now. ๐
I enjoy and have enjoyed all ages. But, no schedule, no work outside home makes life simple and easy
Yes! I love being able to choose how I spend my time.
I have much more fun since Sept 26, 2006 when I retired and floated accross that huge parking lot for the last time.. we did sometimes have fun at work, but not much. I enjoy simple things, like taking 30 minutes to play around taking photos of a tiny flower. it depends on the person. some find joy in Hallmark movies. some need to be on the go. I have a friend who is 83 and she is only happy when On The Go, she travels high and low which would make me unhappy.
Andy and I are with you about loving our little projects and not having to travel. We’re all so blessed.
Doris Day’s voice was a fixture in my childhood home! Funny, after all these years I remember the lyrics.
Now that Tom’s health seems to have buoyed, I find myself more relaxed and able to take pleasure in the small stuff.
I’m so glad about Tom’s health. Fingers crossed it continues.
Don’t remember that song but I have found lots of things to enjoy no matter what age bracket I’ve traveled through.
That’s great. It pays to be flexible. ๐
I remember Doris well, and many of her songs. But I never heard this one. Enjoying yourself when you get old…it all depends on your health!
And being flexible, finding new joys when we con no longer partake of the old ones.
I’ve learned to enjoy myself in spite of my health. I just enjoy different things than I used to do.
That flexibility is so important.
I don’t know this song. When I hear Doris Day I always think of Que Sera Sera.
I don’t know who says you can’t enjoy yourself when you’re old but they obviously don’t know what they are talking about.
Amen to that! And I remember Que Sera, Sera too.
