A Skiff of Snow

We had a skiff of snow down here and up on the land yesterday morning. It melted fast down here, but the high up there was only 23°F so in many places the snow stayed.

It did melt where the ground was already mostly bare:

February 9, 2023 (yesterday)

The bare ground absorbs the heat from the sun now so the snow around it melts. As I’ve said before, February is a fun month for weather watchers here in the northern New Mexico mountains.

It’s that time of year for seeing a little bit of everything in weather.
I just love that view in the last picture.

our Feb is up and down, jacket needed for walk one day and today we wake up to 70 outside and house 74 and no need for a jacket, humidty in the house is about to require AC on.. we fight turning it on as long as we can.. the view is as pretty with melted snow as when it is piled up. I like both views and a lot easier to walk around.

It’s been freezing, warming, and now another freeze advisory here. But, no snow!!

  4. Every day, a new vista!
Our weather’s all over the place. 81* day before yesterday, but now the mercury’s plummeting. Again.

The first photo is lovely, that is my favorite.

I trust he wouldn’t need that plow today.

  7. our summer is again – at odds with the “word” – and the weather modelers are suggesting that Cyclone Gabrielle is coming down from the Coral Sea – ETA late tomorrow/Sunday or early Monday morning through for a couple of days.

we are still in State of Emergency from the other weather we endured around 2 weeks ago as the clearing up and repairing not even half done.

It’s pretty breezy this arvo, no sun but it’s not raining.

I’ve got in the “supplies” none of which is food related 🙂 but I do have enough anyhow and I’m looking forward to kids food – jam sandwiches if the power should be shut off…

but as I said some place else, I still can’t fathom out “snow in a yard” 🙂

Just looking at those pictures makes me shiver. Spring here, in the Pacific Northwest, comes early, so I’m counting the days!
