An Exciting Purchase

I was thrilled to see this sink strainer in the store this afternoon…I realized I needed it but hadn’t had the wit to know that.

Why did I need it? Because last September I bought a dozen 8 oz. jars which are a handy size for me.

I loved them, but just before going to bed one night I was washing one and it slipped out of my hand. It went straight into the opening for the garbage disposal. It didn’t go all the way down, but it was stuck, too wide to easily get it back out. I took me quite a few minutes of prying and trying things until I remembered these little pliers.

They were just what I needed, so I finished up and went to bed. Ever since I have been a lot more cautious with those jars. Until now… the strainer should easily fix the problem.

It doesn’t take much to make some people happy. 🙂

An easy solution to what could be a not so easy problem!

  2. Thank goodness you weren’t cut, Jean! For sure, little victories make me happy.
Because we’re on a septic system (not afforded a garbage disposal) I’m a tad anxious not to let anything disappear down the drain. It was a Happy Day when I discovered something called Dripsies!

  3. HELLO FRIEND!! I love walking around kitchen stores just to find those things that I didn’t think I needed, but realize I do! We don’t have a garbage disposal, but have used those covers for a long time. It’s amazing what they’ll catch – Now a slippery-jar catcher can be added to their use. Glad you didn’t have to break it, and found another handy ‘kitchen tool’ to get it out.

  4. and it’s sometimes those little things that make life easier – I’ve some entertaining items that help me a lot of the time – I’ve a “reacher clip” tool that I keep in the bathroom, so I can easily get the shower mat off the floor and hang it on another makershift drying thing. I use it when things go between appliances that are difficult to reach – and if like is probably happening in this current storm, twigs that arrive on the path – much easier to use the hand held reacher to pick up and then place out of the way…

Plastic things that goes over my second think and this is much better I’ll have to keep an eye out for one. It’s amazing that that Jar New to go but down and right into the hole and I can see where it would be a perfect fit and hard to get out. I like the way your new screen looks I’ve got one that’s ugly
