Not So Bare Up There

Andy and I drove up to the Dome Road yesterday afternoon. He decided to give the sun another day to try to melt the snow there. He’ll go up today to see how far he gets, but he’s not going to push it. The snow can’t last forever as long as the sun comes out.

There was quite a contrast between the snow up there and how bare the ground is down here, so I took a potful of pictures on the drive back to (1) document the difference and (2) to take pictures of the snow while it was still there. They are in this Flickr album.

Absolutely stunning photos in your flicker album I looked at all of them and wow wow wow! I hope it melt soon so he can get up to his mountain top. But it is beautiful I like the way that completely cleared road shines in the sun with the snow on the each side and my favorite pictures are the ones where the tall trees look like theyโ€™re the only thing living in the landscape of snow thereโ€™s one that I really like that has one tree right in the middle of the photo and it looks like hey I survived

But very pretty!! And I bet the air is so fresh!!

  4. Hope he can get further today. We had two days of sunshine and now all the clouds are back. They are showing rain for tomorrow and we were supposed to be clear for a week.

  5. Flicker #15 … I REMEMBER that curve!
Thanks so much for sharing all of these images. I’m smiling.

We were almost going too fast when we came to that curve the first time. Andy says it’s a good thing there was no one in the oncoming lane. : )

I’m not fan of snow but I can’t deny that it looks pretty in pictures.
