Sometimes It Pays to Procrastinate

I don’t have To Do lists, I have Possibility lists. As long as something is on it, without a fixed deadline, I can choose to put it off until the mood strikes.

Yesterday was a red-letter day because I decided to tackle some tedious record keeping, and I realized I had been doing way too much work on the thing. I could simplify it and save myself a lot of time. Hurray for procrastination, stepping back, and re-evaluating.

This is good to know because I am a world class procrastinator. Now I know that there is a purpose for that.

I am not a procrastinator except for to do lists of housework I don’t want to do. its easy to say I can do it tomorrow. something that has a deadline, I do it way before the deadline. as in filing taxes, I do it as soon as I get the 1099’s. glad it paid off waiting. paperwork is something I really despise and am guilty of putting it off and off, but not if it has a deadline

Bud is the one who makes excuses for putting a job off for a later time …in drives me bonkers. For me finish a job & forget it if at all possible…weather is about the only thing that keeps me from jobs of work.

My husband is a procrastinator, I am not. But procrastination works in our favor quite a few times.

  5. Love this!
I can’t tell you how many things get moved from one slot in my ‘tickler’ file to the next. The older I become, the less I’m bothered.

  6. I’ve had to set things in “stone” and I get so annoyed if I fail – one which is wash up the dishes before I hit the sack. But sometimes there’s only a few things, if I was out and ate out!
I’ve alarms set for other things – daily or once a week – with nice times!
When I’m getting up in the morning, I look at my schedule and maybe set an alarm to eat lunch earlier, the time I need to leave to catch the bus. I know this Sunday I must set my alarm for earlier for Monday as I need to be on the curb at 8.30am!

But I procrastinate on doing unimportant things like clothes shopping…looking at why and saying “that will do another season” OR catching up with friends, I’ve recently got a love/hate relationship with “meeting at a cafe” 🙂
