When we drove up Tuesday the heavy metal disk attached to the gate had been taken off. The question is, why was it put on for the winter?

My curiosity is piqued. What is the purpose of the disk? When is it used and why? Who would have taken it off and then left it in the middle of the road?
🙂 The gate is unlocked and open now, so the disk is no longer there.
