as I’ve said before, this this ancient Sanskrit poem is one of my favorites:
Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the truths and realities of existence:The joy of growth,
The splendor of action,
The glory of power. For yesterday is but a memory,
And tomorrow is only a vision;
But today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a memory of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day!
There’s never any guarantee, of course, but I love the poem’s exuberance and love of life. It sounds like a great strategy to me.

It’s a great reminder for all of us to live in the moment and appreciate what we have.
Yes. 🙂
So true, we only have the moment we are in, maybe not even the entire day.
Yes! 🙂
I knew this poem many years ago in my youth. Had forgotten all about it. Thank you for reminding me of it, what an important message written in such a beautiful way!
🙂
This is one I’ve heard often. It’s a wonderful message.
It bears repeating. 🙂
One of the last texts my cousin sent — “… used to tell me all the time, Robert you got to enjoy your life each and every day and I try to.
Bob passed Sunday morning, only 2 months following his cancer diagnosis.
I’m so sorry.
