We’ll Skip the Fair

The National Weather Service had fun with today’s forecast:

As the NM State Fair commences on Thursday, the state will be roasting like those jumbo turkey legs and frying like fried green chile cheeseburgers…

It’s not nearly as bad up here in the mountains, thank goodness. We’ll skip the fair.

  1. expect you’ll not miss too much, and saving yourself from severe sunburn, a bonus 🙂

It looks like a stoner wrote this article!

Loved the NM State Fair … not so much the heat.
I may have to fix myself one of those green chile burgers soon!

  4. Bruce Taylor says:

I do miss the awful State Fair food but the fair itself, even our County Fair, has just gotten to big for my old legs.

  5. Linda Sand says:

I used to go to the Minnesota State Fair and rent a handicapped cart to get me around without exhaustion. I had certain healthful food I bought and 2 treats that don’t come close to healthful. But, mostly I looked at handicraft exhibits and watched various performances. I never went to the Midway and seldom to the animal barns. And I brought old-fashioned sunburn treatment supplies with me because my hat never kept my nose from burning. All of that was before Covid hit, of course.

I have never been to a state fair, and we are only 35 miles from Florida one but i don’t like crowds. Certainly not drive 100 miles. I prefer you humanless mountain top for sure, and also the cooler air

  7. Ann Thompson says:

That sounds way too hot to be walking around at a fair.
