They Should Be Home Tonight!

Kaitlin wrote yesterday evening to say they were having a picnic supper in their motel room in Eire while they watched the Westminster dog show. That warms my heart and makes me happy.

They had a chance to spend a bit of time with Torben’s mom in Ann Arbor, MI on the way, but they should be back home tonight. It’s been a lot of driving, and I’m so glad they enjoy car trips. I feel blessed that they do. Otherwise I would worry about them.

  1. turning a long trip into a fun journey is always the best option, especially since their passengers aren’t exactly human…so obviously their enjoyment has to be considered…

  2. Tom’s going to be disappointed to learn he missed that dog show.
One of our most enjoyable meals happened in a north Arizona motel room — ribs, wine … and puppy chow.

We are never too old to worry about them!

Our daughter and her husband are/were both professional drivers so coming here is not a chore for them but does take a long time since they live in Montana. They haven’t been here since just before Covid hit, though, so I wish they were free to come again soon. It’s easy to forget how hard it was to get away when you were working after having been retired this long. You are lucky to get to see Kaitlyn so often.

Oh my gosh, they were in Erie? I could have dropped by and said hello. 🙂
    Safe travels to them.

when I read where they were my first thought was, Ann is close by.. so glad they are almost home and are having a good trip. Before I aged like old cheese, i would have liked to do what they do, but now I am a bonafide home body. what a blessing they can visit you as much as they do.. life is different now that family memers are scattered all over different states and even continents.

I used to love long road trips. When we were living in Mexico years ago we made one trip from Guadalajara clear up to visit relatives in North Dakota, then did a quick day trip over the line to Canada to say we’d covered three countries in one trip!

  8. So glad they had a nice trip.
