What Is Paris Coming To?

Attention American doughnut fans: Krispy Kreme doughnuts are finally coming to Paris, at the Forum des Halles, on Wednesday, December 6 at 8am!

If you’re a fan of American TV shows or cartoons, then you’re probably familiar with Krispy Kreme’s donuts, in the pink version with multicolored vermicelli for Homer Simpson, or in the glazed version (we’re talking sugar glaze here, not ice cream!) in the hand of every policeman in every TV show across the Atlantic.
Krispy Kreme donuts, pop culture icons, now at the Forum des Halles!

I’ve never had a Krispy Cream donut. Have you?

I’ve never had one either. I figure eating a Krispy Cream donut would make a bit of a traitor…lol I honestly don’t see the fuss over them. It’s just a glazed ring donut.

The exciting thing in Paris is people can watch them being made. It would be fun to see as long as I didn’t have to eat one. 🙂

no, I have never had A krispy kreme, I have had DOZENS of them, my favorite of all donuts. they are huge in the south and have been for many years, my kids grew up on them. I thought the whole world had them, must have started down here somewhere, they don’t have many here in FL, Georgia is where they are. that means please do not come to Florida, go to Georgia. we are over stuffed down here, not with donuts but people fleeing the cold and snow.

  3. We have them here too and they really are a southern thing I guess. We like them. They are made with potato flour and are light, fluffy and sweet.

  4. Yes I have had them but it has been years since I’ve had one. They are very good.

  5. We have several Krispy Kreme shops near-by but I rarely ever stop and buy them because they are too good to keep in the house and I won’t wait in line for just a couple. They even have a drive-thou window at one place. They are very popular here in The States although they’ve only been up here in the north for 5-6 years.

  6. Bruce Taylor says:

Oh yes. They are wonderful. But fortunately they are no longer sold in my area, saving me from extreme obesity!

  7. Linda Sand says:

Yes, but I didn’t see what all the brouhaha was about. To me, the smell is better than the eating. Same with Cinnabon.

  8. Myra Guca says:

Someone was always bringing KK into my last workplace, but like Linda just said, I was underwhelmed. (And needlessly guilt-ridden for succumbing.)

  9. they are in New Zealand

in fact this time last year they were building another factory, signature store in my old suburb – New Lynn…

but I’ve only a few, once when I was out at the airport

  10. Wisewebwoman says:

Thay had a startup in Canada and I did try them once and wondered what all the fuss was about as they were light as a feather with no volume like our own doughnuts (Time Horton’s – massive chain).
They failed here. I was not surprised.
