I Think I was Wrong

Do you remember that picture of the basketball court where part of it was free of snow?

I had thought that someone had cleared the area off. But now I have my doubts. Here’s a picture of it from last Saturday:

Notice the area is in the sun and that the edge of it was starting to melt.

The next picture was taken yesterday, when the temperature was above freezing and the sun was still shining on that area. I now think the sun was doing most of the work.

It’s supposed to be above freezing for a week or so now, so I’m guessing the snow on the rest of the court will melt too. I will let you know! It’s fun to watch.

  1. aha, the magic of nature

here we had a day of rain, not cold or terribly heavy – back today to sun and too much warmth. But I stayed home, machine sewing paper strips…sampling something object that is still in sample the materials needed stage

Whoever put that basketball court in certainly picked a good spot for it. That’s perfect that the sun can melt the snow off like that.

wow, I was getting exciting thinking you were brave to say you were wrong. ha ha, in this house both of us find that hard to do. I think you are RIGHT today, that was easy to say. ha ha again. We are missing our sunshine. a whole week with no sun, and another coming up. my friend from NY is here and she said in a text, What did you do with our Florida weather? she has seen zero sun since they got here which as far as I can remember has never happened for more than one day at a time. I too, love to watch things from our windows. we watch what the sun does to trees, how the leaves come and go, how the high wind waves the tops of the trees and the low waves the bush in front of the window. you have a great view.

I probably wouldn’t have thought about that! Wouldn’t this be a great time to have a time-lapse camera.

  5. That’s a pretty ideal location for the self-clearing basketball court!

  6. Linda Sand says:

I think someone cleared the snow in the first picture. The area is surrounded by the piles of snow they cleared. A familiar sight to this Minnesotan.

  7. That’s very interesting.

Good grief, they could not have installed the hoop in a better place!!
