Taking Delight…

in watching things grow.

Yesterday I was trying to do a chore on a website but they had changed from requiring that I allow cross site tracking to requiring that I allow pop up windows. Okay, I tried to follow their instructions for Safari and, not surprisingly, the instructions didn’t work. I decided to try again today after I look up the instructions for the current version of my Mac.

So, back to watching The Final Table with Spanish subtitles.

The challenge was to make a Feijoada, the national dish of Brazil. One team took a chance and did a gourmet deconstructed version, and the judges loved part of it, but then this judge said,

Hmm. I read that, pondered it, then thought, “That makes sense.” Farofa was part of the challenge. It’s a side dish made of toasted cassava. The fellow is saying is the best part of it is soaking up the sauce and contestants weren’t doing that.

Clearly I could have lived without that knowledge, but so what? I’m still tickled that I understood it and am learning some new things. That’s one of my great joys in life, so I’m sticking with it.

This reminds me of something another blogger uses to close her posts:
“Be sure to look for your joys this week. They are out there no matter how small they may be.”

  4. Good for you sticking with the Spanish, that’s quite the accomplishment.

I can’t count the times I have to stop what I am doing and go to another Tab and look up how to do it or fix it or instructions. I do know what Cassava is because we have the plants in our back yard. congratulations on your skill at reading what is on the screen…
