Labradors

Labradors – double coated, waterproofed & insulated – were bred from St John’s Water Dogs, carefully selected to retrieve fish from the semi-arctic waters of Newfoundland and Labrador for their fishermen owners.

Here are 3 of them, begging to get inside to escape light drizzle.

Thanks, Angus, for the link.

Aw, look at them. One in each color. In past years I’ve had at least one of each color but not at the same time. They are such sweet and gently dogs.

  3. Myra Guca says:

Poor babies! Never mind their heritage, they just need a warm bath towel and some loving.

Oh my goodness, water hating labs!

It’s all in what you are used to. These guys have obviously been babied. Like none of us have ever babied our pets, right?

  6. The OP Pack says:

Too funny. Mine love the snow and the cold, but nope, not doing rain. Today with all the weather threats, they are almost like velcroe\-attached to me.

  7. Love, love, love those sweet faces!

Copper doesn’t like rain, either, but on my…he stays out in the snow till his toes are about frozen off.

  9. We had a labrador back in the late 70’s. She had 12 puppies and of course we keep one of them. Great dogs. Such a cute photo.
