Goodbye, Sweet Tree

I’ve been mourning it as it died, and they finished it off Thursday.

Nothing lasts forever, but I miss it.

Oh no!!! I loved that tree!!!

Oh my. I was hoping they would leave it after the major trim. I know just how you feel! One of the main reasons we bought our home of over 35 years was because of the huge maple tree in the front yard. The first time we saw the house, the tree’s leaves were orange and gold glowing in the sun. And maybe five years ago, we had to have it cut down. I still miss it.

  3. the semi gardener here, is a man with a saw – and just recently he gave a flowering (in flower) Magnolia a severe hair cut! And his antics with other trees and shrubs just as bad!

I had gone out on the scooter, and that Magnolia behind the “garage” and there was a lot of fallen flowers, I assumed (quite wrong) he was going to rake them up – never expected to find that most of the tree gone! Along with the leaves and dead flowers…and the flowers still blooming on the tree

so yes I feel for you – the world needs more trees. Are they going to replace the tree??

  4. It was a big tree.

Always sad to see a tree get cut down. We hope the complex will plant a new one for the ages to come.

  12. That’s very sad when they depart like that.

  13. It’s always a loss when a tree dies. Imagine the stories it could tell – The stories they can all tell.

  14. Ann Thompson says:

I always hate to see a tree taken down but if it’s already dead it’s safer. It’s fascinating to watch them though. The neighbor across the street had one taken down a few years ago and there was only one guy working but he was so efficient it was fun to watch him.

  15. Wow, that is so sad.
