I was curious to see how ChatGPT would respond if it knew nothing about me. So I went on another computer, didn’t sign in, and asked again, What Lights Your Fire? The result was more generic and wasn’t as powerful for me. As expected, when Kaitlin tried, the result was more tailored to her. The last part, especially, seemed to capture what she cares about at work.
On the other hand, when I accidentally asked What Lights My Fire? instead of What Lights Your Fire?, the result blew me away. It answered for itself:

Not sure if you realize that for every person that uses AI , you are using valuable energy and water that is needed for us to survive. I have seen article after article saying it we do not quit, then we will not be around to see it because it will use our resources. I would rather see man and animals exist than AI. Hope this comment does not get deleted as it is an honest opinion based on fact.
I know about environmental cost and factored it into my decision to use it. I’ve sent you an email if you want to discuss this in more depth.

Wow, this post inspired me to ask windows 11 Co-pilot the same question an the conversation we had afterward was amazing. I’m going to use it for a post next week–this week’s is already written. It started out with the same sentence your AI did— “If I had a fire, it would be fueled by curiosity.” But after that it wa entirely different.
Yes, it should be different.
That’s a really interesting exploration of how AI responds to prompts, especially when it “knows” you or when you accidentally prompt it to answer from its own perspective.
