Eleven Days Later

The celery plant still isn’t putting out roots, but it is getting taller and bushier.

I can’t tell if it will rot before it puts out roots.

If it does I will try again.

  1. I’ve never grown celery like that but do you think maybe transplanting it into a pot with dirt might help it root? Looks like it is doing well, though. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thatโ€™s interesting ?. Even without roots yet, itโ€™s encouraging to see the celery growing taller and bushierโ€”thatโ€™s a good sign of healthy growth above the soil. With a bit more time, those roots will likely catch up!

it really is quite pretty, and I would never have thought of rooting one. I used to keep sweet tater plants in my kitchen and bob has rooted pineapples that grew other pineapples.

It’s looking good. Mine seemed to take a long time to get roots. I did finally put it in a pot with dirt the other day. The outer parts of it did rot but I just cleaned those all off before I planted it.

    …you have a green thumb.

I’m really surprised at how well this works. Looks healthy and you can always use the green leaves to season foods.

  7. Wow, I missed something. I didn’t know you could grow celery like that.

  8. I have been meaning to try this. Today is the day.

  9. I agree, it does look good though!

How strange. It is looking more and more like a pretty houseplant!

  11. It looks beautiful in the middle – I wonder if it will work!

  12. It does look lovely and healthy. I wonder where the roots are.
