Meteorologically speaking, of course.
Saturday Kaitlin sent me an email with this picture of the 30″ of snow they had.
And pictures of the pups looking at her lovingly after she had cleared their driveway and was eating lunch.
Now their weather report for today predicts a blizzard.
In contrast, Andy took these pictures up on the land Saturday:
And in case there is any doubt about spring coming, he took these pictures of the pussy willow yesterday:
Happy upcoming spring!
February 23, 2026

I still cannot believe that pussy willow! That is definitely the contrast in weather!
🙂
…but not reality here!
When does your spring weather start?
Looks like Spring has come to your mountain, Hope so… and whoa on the snow. I thought that storm might effect them.. Glad to see they are OK. Precious Pups are looking fantastic
🙂
Gosh, those pussy willows sure brightened my day. I’m sick of being cold!
🙂
We are in single digits. That’s a LOT of snow!
🙂
The pussy willows are so pretty.. I’ve never seen them growing. I’ve only seen the dried ones in hobby lobby. That is a lot of snow for Kaitlin’s area. prayers that her power stays on.
Thanks. 🙂
That’s a lot of snow! That’s a big driveway to clear. Cute pictures of the pups. Nice photos of the land and I love the pussy willow. Enjoy your week.
You too! 🙂
Beautiful photos. The dogs are adorable.
Yes. 🙂
Yes the last weekend of summer coming up…ummm what summer!
Maybe Autumn will be better, here.
However that the least of my worries…and I just have to go with the flow. Of course I live somewhere, where there never any snow…
I’m sorry your summer wasn’t better for you. Fingers crossed for the fall.
The sky is so intense and brilliant behind the pussy willows! It is gorgeous! And I love the clarity and beauty of the mountains in the one photo. The weather is all over the place…70 one day and snow the next. That’s RIGHT! I had forgotten about metrological spring!! The stores already have their Easter things out.
🙂
We sure are ready for Spring to show up and stay put!
I can imagine. We could always get more snow, but once February comes it doesn’t last long.
I am so glad we no longer live in New England – this storm was a whopper. I have cousins on Cape Cod who have no power, hence, no heat, and no idea when it will be restored. I was happy to see last week the hyacinths poking through the mulch, although it is a bit early for that. Of course, Misty and Timber would be over the moon happy to have even half of that snow.
Yes,Huskies adore snow. Kaitlin and Torben are lucky that the power hasn’t gone out.
I always used to look forward to seeing the first pussy willows. That’s something I’d totally forgotten.
🙂
Wow, that’s kind of unusual for spring to be coming so soon isn’t it? We had snow here today. Not a lot of accumulation but it still snowed and was cold
Here it often snows in February, but the sun usually comes out the next day and starts melting it. This year the winter has been dry, which unfortunately means wildfire danger in a couple of months.
Spring is coming!
Yes. 🙂
Lovely
🙂
