This past winter was glorious — a lot of sunshine. We’re going to pay for it with the fire danger, of course. There’s already a fire watch for this weekend because of the wind — Andy says he may stay down here if it’s too strong.
Next weekend the National Weather Service is predicting,
An unseasonably strong high pressure system will begin to build over the southwest US toward the middle of next week with weaker winds and record and near record high temperatures reaching 15-25 degrees above 1991-2020 averages as early as Wednesday. This ridge of high pressure looks to become powerfully strong next weekend with an increasing likelihood of a historic and hazardous early season heatwave that could far surpass daily record high temperature records across much of northern and central New Mexico.

Nope, way too warm for spring. I like winter better. (Yes, I know it will be a lot worse elsewhere, but it’s supposed to be an extra-hot summer, my least favorite season.)

I would sure rather be chilly than too hot! I do not like summer anymore. It is my least favorite season. We are now having various wildfires in the mountains.
I’m with you!
We have had winds and now it’s going to be close to 100 degrees here in Southern California. Yes, I am concerned about having a hot summer and the danger of having a fire. Hope you have a nice weekend.
I hope you have a good one too. 🙂
I would sure rather be chilly too. You know I don’t like it hot either. I did not know that your area had danger from fires. I am learning all sorts of things.
Our first (partially finished) house burned down, along with all the trees except one, in a fire in 2011.
I really love Winter! After all, you can always add layers as in dress warmly! And the air is fresh and clean!
Our summers here in Montreal are so hot and humid…and with the wildfires, our air quality is very bad. I prefer being cool or cold than hot.
Yes! 🙂
I’m so glad to read where others dislike Summer, too. (*grin*)
Call it “chilly” or “brisk”, I always feel invigorated.
Yes 🙂
I’m glad you like winter, you’re always welcome to have mine LOL!
🙂
It’s a good thing we have fours seasons. There is something for everyone.
🙂
That would be the downside to an easy winter. I think it would be better to have a lot of snow and cold temps than the threat of fires.
We enjoyed the winter while it was here, since we weren’t given a vote. 🙂
