In Case There Was Any Doubt…

that we’ve had some sun down here:

It’s officially our first “mud season”. We’ll have more sub-freezing temperatures and probably some snow, then more melting and mud. The joy of dirt roads.

Mud season used to be a lot worse before they tarred the road out here. Mary’s little Toyota Corolla used to take a beating getting out to the tar. Now the dirt road is about a quarter-mile down the road and while we walk down there a lot, during mud season, there is usually a vehicle or two that gets stuck attempting to drive through from the other side. The local farm tractor gets a bit of work then because even the tow trucks won’t go down there. $100 just to start the tractor up and more if it is a bad off the road and the skidder has to go get them hehehehe.

Andy has helped many a person out of a ditch in the snow, but so far no one because of the mud. We just don’t like the roads being torn up.

I know a few guys who would LOVE that mud. My nephew lives for mud runs and so did my husband when he was alive. Little boys, bigger toys.

We don’t like the mud because it tears up the roads. The picture is of a public road, so eventually the county will probably work on it. Unfortunately we have to maintain our part of the road. No, we’re not thrilled to see the mud.

Omg, mud is 100 times worse than snow!
    What a nightmare
    🙁
