    Well, this certainly gave me something to smile about:) My uncle whom I loved dearly always had parakeets and he was amazing with them. He could teach them to talk so amazingly. Because of him, at one point I requested my own parakeet. Got one…but cleaning out that cage turned out to be NOT fun!!!

      We had a couple of parakeets when I was a teen. They never learned to talk, but I don’t remember it was hard to clean the cage. We just put newspaper down on the bottom. I do remember it was nice having them around.
