The Op Pack said their soil is like clay, so Grandpa’s Weeder probably wouldn’t work there. She’s right, the reviews say it doesn’t. Here are three pictures illustrating my results in our rocky soil.
This one didn’t work, it just shred the leaves:
This one snapped off the top of the plant:
And this one pulled the whole plant out, including the roots:
And I didn’t have to bend over and hurt my back. A fun experiment.

That weeder would be good for a lot of weeds and spares the back which is good to know.
I enjoyed trying it. 🙂
Oh well, maybe the weeds will just have to stay:)
Mainly he needs to keep them from producing gazillions of seeds, keep them down to a dull roar.
so it’s dependent on the soil and the weed – but at least you have something to pull weeds easily….
🙂
Bending over pulling weeds can be killer. This would be a lifesaver.
Yes, the main thing is to protect our backs. 🙂
I know all about bending over back aches. the day I picked up all the sticks, next day I was stiff. this is a good example of what it can and can’t do. it just depends on the soil and also the roots to the weed and size of the weed..
We call the soil up there “Rocky Mountain loam”…that’s when the rocks are small enough for us to pick up. 🙂
I hate to say this, but they all look like a healthy crop of weeds!!
They’re pretty when they’re small. 🙂
As long as you’ve having fun in the moment, I’d say that’s a win!
I’m very good at having fun! 🙂
