Our Sixth Jab

Andy and I were pleased that they decided to authorize a new booster shot for immunocompromised people and seniors. We had ours Monday. Andy didn’t have any symptoms, my arm was tender for a couple of days and I felt I was fighting a cold Tuesday, but that was it.

In the past we had Moderna vaccines, this time it was Pfizer. Studies in the past indicated the Moderna vaccines were slightly more effective, but the main thing is we got one. And who knows what the results would be with the new formulations.

I know people who haven’t kept up-to-date with the vaccines and haven’t gotten Covid, but we’re happy being cautious.

I wondered if there would be another booster, this is the first I have heard about a new one. we got all the other shots/boosters, so imagine we will get this one too

  2. Only recently I heard of this new booster. I’m still ‘on the fence’ but appreciate hearing your experience!

We just got our latest one yesterday! I always feel safer afterward. We always get the Pfizer.

Six? I never heard anything after the third one! And I got Covid about a month ago. I survived. Now they have removed the mask mandates here, even at my doctor’s office.

Here they require masks at the hospital and doctors’ offices. We’re happy about that.

If you’ve just had Covid you should be safe for a while.

I didn’t realize they were on a 6th booster already. I only got the first two.

  6. When I read your title – I was both sad and thought it was funny.

After our initial 2 – which everyone could have – the next booster was only for certain age group/gender/other – then that was extended to all.

The next booster which was from May also only for certain groups and I fit into that one BUT it was still on a time line. And on Saturday I discovered I couldn’t do it with a combined flu (it’s autumn in NZ} I got the flu’ but would need to wait another few weeks

Well somewhere on that day, a nasty flying covid germ run up my nose! And now I won’t need or even allowed that mid May booster…until xyz month – I guess late winter!!!

I’m required to self isolate for 7 days – I will rejoin society next Tuesday… in the meantime the weather is not terribly nice, so no hardship to here…and I’ve cosy home etc.

Oh, we didn’t know about that new booster opportunity. We will have to check it out. Thanks for telling us.
