Idalia and Franklin

Andy showed me this picture of a well-defined hurricane yesterday afternoon. He said it must be Idalia, the one they’ve been talking about. (Click on picture for higher resolution.)

Except that hurricane is east of Florida. Idalia isn’t a hurricane yet, and it’s down by Cuba and threatening the west coast of Florida. Sandra has told us that and we’re concerned for her.

So off to the internet to find that the Atlantic hurricane is Franklin. It’s not supposed to hit the U.S.

Here’s a satellite picture taken last night. Idalia seems more distinct now. (Click on picture for higher resolution.)

And here’s graphic of both Idalia and Franklin last night:

Fingers crossed for everyone affected by the storms, especially for Sandra, Bob, and Beau.

    yep fingers x-ed

here in my neck of the woods, spring is emerging – touch wood the sun is out a lot more – although spring here is still known to dip back to winter storms!

Idalia is out in the gulf and a cat 1 hurricane now, moving towards our door at 14 MPH… we are glad they were wrong about Franklin, they said he would head towards Europe a few days ago, he did not. with him out in the atlantic he is pushing Idalia further away from our shores. no matter where it chooses to go a shore, we will get high winds and storm surge, unless of course it does a right turn and hits us head on. supposed to be winds around 8 tonight and all night. we are in watch mode.

Praying that both hurricanes do little damage wherever they go. Been keeping Sandra in my thoughts.
