First an update on Betty:
A lot of little things have been needing my attention here, so I’ve been having a good chance to practice staying calm, centered, and patient. A lot of it has to do with having had to change my Amazon credit card number because of fraud. Changing the number on websites that are using the card for recurring payments is time consuming, but I’m being methodical.
Then Verizon suddenly increased our phone bill by $10 and when I talked to their AI chat it said it was because of data charges on one line. Both of our phones have data connection off. I spent about an hour and a half on it, but I finally got connected to an agent who took the $10 off and said it wouldn’t happen again. I had told the agent that in this day in age people need to know what their bill will be. Uncertainty erodes trust. She was friendly and helpful, so I took a screen shot of her answer. We’ll see if I ever need to use it.
The neat thing is Andy and I voted today! He hadn’t voted in years, so it was fun doing it together.
Enough for one day! Take care.
May 13, 2026

I’m seeing a lot of changes here. The petrol here is in different grades and diesel is higher than petrol. Given thst a lot of our food and essential others is trucked it putting up.prices.
Not just at the service stations.
My subsidy with taxis has increased…and that’s my main transport to go to activities and events
But we hardly now here about pricing…or how the govt will help with the costs. No real plan…or it’s wishy washy…
Unfortunately the whole world is affected. 🙁
…finding a drywall crew these days is like finding hen’s teeth!!!
That’s true here too.
I am glad that you and Andy got to vote together.
🙂
I can only imagine what a time-consuming mess that credit card fraud has caused you!! I would need anti-anxiety meds.
It’s good practice. On the whole I’m handling it well.
I’m glad Andy voted. We are feeling the squeeze.
🙂
Good for you! I venture that some people would just shrug off the $10 instead of making time to find someone to help.
A few months ago it was an extra $30. We let that one go, but I’ve been watching. I don’t trust them so decided I’d better say something.
Yay on voting
🙂
Glad you are getting things straightened out with your amazon card. Frustrating when there are increases on bill especially for things you don’t even have.
Yes. I’ve learned to question Verizon when it does things like this.
I am glad you got your $10 off – a lot of people would not go through the PAIN to try to fix it.
It wasn’t just the $10, they’ve done things like this in the past, for even more money. I wanted them to stop.
Oh my, it is not fun dealing with those types of situations. Glad you got it all worked out.
Thanks. 🙂
