They’re starting to paint the inside of the house now, but they won’t finish the chimney until we figure out exactly how to handle the lightning protection for the stovepipe. We will keep you posted.
How was your week?

Till Tuesday, it was fun. On returning from my trip I came by bus and appear to have sprained a muscle on my thigh. That has meant being grounded but I am enjoying that as visitors have kept me entertained and charged up. Since yesterday an abandoned pup has been brought home by the son and heir for treatment and eventual adoption and that has brought some excitement too!
Rummuser,
It sounds as if the sprain is temporary, but the puppy….now that’s exciting! If anything happened to Andy I would probably rescue a dog from the shelter. I’m happy for you.
Cheerful Monk,
That is definitely the way to paint; don’t get me to thinking!
Great week, except I accidentally overextended a muscle in my left arm. Yes, that would be the good arm. If I ever was normal, then I should return to that status in a few weeks.(smile)
P.S. I like the green cover color on the chimney. Makes it hard to see the pipes, though I’m not sure why.
On Wednesday, it was the beginning of “bumping” into folk that I know locally, don’t live around here, work usually somewhere else during the weekday or just rarely see locally.
First it was my big sis who does come here intermittently but I rarely see her (not sure why not!) – going with her for a bite to eat: I meet someone briefly at the ladies restroom, see another who should be at work near the eatery and then see in the distance a guy who I believe doesn’t even live around here…
Then on Thursday, still local I see someone twice who does work around here, but rarely see except when I’m at embroiderers guild on some Saturdays. Then just as I thought that’s that I saw a guy who I know lives in the City…apparently he’s got a casual job here!
So I innocently said on facebook: I’m going into the City tomorrow, will I see anyone I know? Probably not…
Well, I did and we sat together at the digital tour session…although I didn’t see her initially in the room. I swanned into the back row and then thought, why not sit front row so I waltzed up and there was Anna T! Someone I probably haven’t seen for well over a year although I think I spoke with her earlier this year on the blower…
Was this the week for “noticing folk” or was it to do with the full moon – I saw earlier in the week…
Difficult and challenging. My wife ended up in hospital overnight. Crisis probably passed but still early days. More emotionally demanding than anything else.
Dixie,
The green is just a temporary covering. The idea was to make the roof of the chimney the same material as the roof of the house. The chimney itself might be changed. Today the architect decided it was too high, it needed to be torn down and rebuilt. He said he would draw a new sketch for the contractor over the weekend. Presumably the contractor will then tell us how much the change would cost. What’s wrong with this picture? 🙂
I’m sorry about your arm. Good luck!
Cathy,
How interesting and fun. Even though I live in a small town that almost never happens to me.
Evan,
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope it isn’t too serious.
