Building Repairs

They were busy replacing a beam and some posts this week. Presumably they will now stain the posts and replace our railing. A downstairs neighbor cheerfully said, “Well, I see you haven’t fallen off the porch yet!”

Unfortunately, the floor of the porch sags more than the roof did, so we’re expecting they’ll eventually replace the posts below us. We’ll just have to see.

In the meantime I’ve been spending time learning to sketch— I’ll write more about that over at Cheerful Monk this Sunday. And Apple sent me a notice that my iPad should arrive tomorrow. Fun stuff here. What about you?

Thanks to Cathy, bikehikebabe and Rummuser for commenting on last week’s post.

I am relieved that the matter is receiving the attention that it deserves.

A bit fraught but at a music festival this weekend – fabulous

no building repairs here…although my vegetable garden needs a few repairs at the edges. Personally my inside “head dept” still needs a few repairs since the Uni declined my application to change programmes! And I had around an hour to decide on what to do…for the forthcoming year. At end of year I will make decision whether to stay or go…

My computer add-ons were causing so much strife that my 1st number repairman decided he needed to go shopping for a 3 in 1 printer, copier, scanner. He scored a scratch shop floor model for 1/2 usual price…and then arrived here with it within an hour and put it all together so it will work with my laptop…

    bikehikebabe,
They’ve now put the railing back up, which is probably safer.

    Rummuser,
    Thank you.

    Evan,
I’m glad you had a chance to go.

    Cathy,
Thank you for letting us know what’s going on. Sorry about all the problems with the Uni. The other ones seem to be more easily solvable.
