Busy Day

We picked Kaitlin and Torben at the Albuquerque airport this morning. Here’s a picture of them vainly waiting for the bag they checked.

They had gotten to the Chicago airport at least an hour before the flight departed, but the bag never made it on the plane. The woman at the baggage claim said there should be no problem, it should get to their hotel tonight.

They had the same problem when they came about a year ago, but they had hoped that time was a fluke. Hopefully the bags (with their boots and heavy coats) will come by tomorrow morning. If not, we’ll still have a good time.

It was a busy day. We stopped by the Apple store while we were in Albuquerque so Torben could pick up the new iPad Pro they had ordered. Apparently the version he wanted is scarce, but the Albuquerque store had one and it was easy to pick up.

I was glad it happened — it reminds me of when the four of us went to Santa Fe in 2008 to buy my first Macbook. A very special day that led to one of my favorite pictures:

I smile every time I think of it.

We had lunch at Santa Fe on the way home, then checked Kaitlin and Torben in their motel, ran an errand, and picked up a picnic dinner at Subway and had it up on the land.

More about that tomorrow, It’s late! I hope your day was good too.

blinking cargo handlers – cannot they not read destination labels! Hope they have their warm gear by now…

yesterday was a still “stay at home” and it was a bit annoying because I had to ask Alison to pay my day/fee today at the craft group we go to once a month. I had only 20c coin in my purse…

by the time we got home, it was lovely – err not raining, and getting quite humid so I went to the Mall, not for cake but I did get a small roast pork dinner from Hollywood Bakery [a chain in NZ] & I got some cash out of the machine!

Then I bought 2 kinds of cheese and 2 kinds of bread…and came home again!

I’m glad you at least got some good food. No luggage yet, but it’s supposed to be at the motel before they get up tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Nice photos. I hope that the luggage reaches them in time for some good times outdoors.

  3. It’s wonderful to have guests you love (family?) over the holidays. Hopefully their luggage and gear arrives soon, and you can fully enjoy the outdoors! Hope they enjoy their new iPad Pro.

They agree with you, and we definitely miss them. After a near freeway accident one snowy drive to NM we changed our pups visit to the summer. Still chances of bad weather, but not always as treacherous.

I’m relieved they’re no longer driving in winter. Safety first. 🙂

That photo would have been perfect if you were sitting in the fourth chair with your laptop! LOL!
I’m so glad you are having such a good time with your loved ones!
    Enjoy!
    XOXOXO
