Another nice day. We walked down to say goodbye to Beate and Tim — they will drive back home next weekend and we will miss them.
Among other things, there was a tree sticking out on the road as we drove in, so Andy showed Kaitlin how to saw it down safely — tree with branches can be dangerous if you aren’t careful:

Of course, she did a good job, she has been tutored by an excellent teacher since she could hold a screw driver 🙂 But then again, she probably doesn’t get a lot of practice at home…
A nice day here, at one point I had to find a t-shirt as it warmed up considerably! Sun streaming in at front.
It will be interesting to see how much sun comes in after Steve the tree man does his thing tomorrow – that will be the morning sun on the side…but through the bedroom windows.

Yes, there must be safe and unsafe ways of sawing down trees, and Kaitlin obviously had a very knowledgeable teacher! I always admire tree surgeons who know how to fell trees without them hitting people or buildings.
Andy has had a LOT of practice clearing trees off the road. 🙂
This reminds me of your earlier post where you had said that Kaitlin was trained by Anday to do all kinds of things when she was a little girl! Way to go!

I’ve cut down a tree and it is so dangerous.
I had a sawzall, not a chainsaw and I still almost got hurt bad.
Chainsaws are terrifying.

I used a very small chainsaw once, but that was the extent of it. I wouldn’t be safe using a bigger one.
