Beauty Comes in All Shapes and Sizes

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Small, large, circle, square, thin crust, thick crust, extra toppings.

I didn’t see that one coming!

Catherine and Rummuser — do you have pizza where you are?

I think one reason this quote tickled my funny bone is because I had just read about a place in upstate New York that sells pickle pizzas:

The “Big Dill Pizza,” as they call it, starts with a garlic sauce base in lieu of classic marinara, then gets covered in mozzarella cheese and a generous topping of pickles, finished off the a sprinkling of dill. Also, some of the more adventurous eaters like to douse their slices with ranch dressing.

Here’s a video of it. And here’s a recipe if you want to try a homemade version.

I wouldn’t mind a tiny taste to satisfy my curiosity, but I’m not a pizza lover. I am tickled by the creativity, though.

I love pizza. It’s so versatile – there are infinite permutations of toppings. And I love the taste. But count me out on pickles, I’ve never liked them. My mum was funny about pizza. She loved taking holidays in Italy but said she wasn’t very keen on Italian food. Go figure!

A good friend of mine had relatives in Italy and visited them several times. She says the food wasn’t as good as the food cooked by her Italian-American relatives.

  2. https://www.canstarblue.co.nz/food-drink/pizza-stores/ – 4 are listed, but there are other speciality places including this one, which is apparently excellent: https://www.settebello.co.nz/Default.asp
You can buy all kinds of pizza at the supermarket, some better than others – along with DIY – usually there is someone in a foodhall producing pizza as well, some bakeries have them…
I’ve not had a pizza for ages, I kept thinking when I’m out to get one…

I might try a slice. trying something new can be fun.
although in Georgia I drew the line at trying alligator. ewww.

    • Jean says:

I’m not sure I would try more than a small piece, but it does sound intriguing. Apparently alligator tastes similar to chicken, so I would try at least a bite of that.

  4. I need to check out pickle pizzia
    Coffee is on

The Runner is a great pizza chef. I’ll have to see if I can convince him to try making pickle pizza!

Thanks for your ideas for our newly almost-blind dog. I really want him to be able to fetch balls from the water despite his blindness.

Yes, I have a Pizza Hut outlet just 200 Mts away from my home.

Very interesting but, if Indian pickles were to be used, the eater will take off into orbit!

If we have a staff meeting, Doc will usually provide lunch.
It used to be nice individual orders for each of us.
Lately it’s been tubs of pasta and salad from Olive Garden
or he’ll get several pizzas from somewhere.
I prefer just cheese pizza, as I’m not eating meat but they have had
pickle pizza as one of the choices.
The sauce is like thousand island dressing and it’s covered in sliced dill pickles… It was actually good but I didn’t want more than one slice.
    :p
