Rainy Day and Time Shift

We’re having a steady, gentle rain down here today. Notice that most of the snow is gone.

Andy didn’t go up to the land because he didn’t want to get soaked walking in. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy too, so we will see what happens.

About the twice-yearly time shift. A lot of people are now saying it isn’t good to mess with our circadian rhythms, we should eliminate the changes. But some want to go to Daylight Time all year round, others want to go to Standard Time. Our state representatives passed a bill voting for Standard Time, while our senators voted for year round Daylight Time — it will be interesting to see if anything comes of either bill. If they do change, what would your preference be?

I’m one who thinks the circadian rhythms are important. after reading a book rummy recommended! plus it just uncomfortable and seems unnatural.
I wish they would just leave it all alone. some state opt out. we have no choice here. they do what they want.

Our snow is mostly gone too, and we have three days of rain coming in. Mom says it is the dirtiest time of the year with all the dirty snow and sand in the roads. Not to mention the mud!!! We don’t care about the time change at all. It was tough on Angel Ciara because of her timed seizure medication, but Mom worked it out. Mom prefers it to be like it is this time of the year because she can walk us in the early evening while it is still light out.

I’m glad you aren’t affected by it, apparently some people are. I know what you mean about the dirtiest time of the year! Do you pups need extra baths? You always look so spotlessly clean.

The time change sure does seem to be messing with me this time around. I would prefer standard time. Wade always preferred daylight savings

I can understand why you would be messed up by it, especially in the spring. You have to get up so early as it is, and on Sundays. 🙁

In the UK we have the same endless dispute about whether the time should stay the same or change twice a year. I wish it would stay the same, it drives me nuts having to change every clock and watch in the house. I don’t think anyone understands why we keep going backwards and forwards.

  5. I’m all for keeping Daylight Standard time year around. Here in Michigan it’s important for your recreational sports industry which is an important part of our economy. But people with little kids don’t like having their kids waiting for school buses in the dark. I love an hour’s more sunlight in my life.

    • Jean says:

That’s the biggest argument against all-year Daylight Time. Apparently more kids are hurt when they have to go to school in the dark. It’s a messy topic.

I just wish they’d pick one; I don’t care which one although standard time is more “standard”. 🙂

We are also having rain, There are flood watches because the rain is melting the snow too fast.

    • Jean says:

So your weather is warmer than usual for this time of year? Or did you get more snow than usual earlier? Do you often get spring flooding? I remember years ago the weather part of the news was really excited about a creek flooding in the northern part of the state. They showed the little creek rising and a lot of the townspeople standing around watching it. Apparently that didn’t happen very often. And that’s why Andy takes pictures of water flowing in the del NorteCanyon stream and in the gully along Woodcutters Road. It doesn’t happen much so it’s worth documenting.

      Good luck with your floods!
