When we obtained our house number in 2011 Andy put it, and a sign warning drivers, on the side of one of the dead trees at the start of our land. We loved it, but the tree finally fell down:
So Andy bought a big spike/4 X 4-post holder and pounded it into the ground with a mallet.
Then he inserted the 4 X 4 and nailed the house number and sign to that.
We liked the old arrangement better, but they didn’t ask us. At least we have a house number.

If they keep going and Andy isn’t up there, they will hit our closed gate and will have to back down. It’s only fair to warn them.
Every narrow, winding road needs a sign. The new one will do the trick.
